Welcome to the Summer/Fall 1997 edition of Alarms Plus Signal

Message from the President.....

The security field is constantly advancing and enhancing the technology of the Burglar and Fire Alarm industry. Alarms Plus' priority is to you as a customer as well as a consumer. My goal is to be in constant contact with the suppliers (distributors and manufacturers) and you to provide the ultimate in valued services and equipment for our customers. There are many ways to achieve the commitment I set for Alarms Plus, as well as, for myself.

  • Meetings, set regularly with sales marketing consultants from the leading manufacturers for a presentation on their newest line of  products. The product line for 1997 is dealing with home automation.
  • Trade Show, attendance in order to achieve hands on with the equipment and gather important literature to distribute to my customers.
  • Education, attendance in courses that encompass fire codes and regulations for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
  • Memberships, in January 1997, I was elected (after many years of being an active member) to the Board of Directors for the NJBFAA - New Jersey Burglar & Fire Alarm Association. My committee responsibilities include the reduction of false alarm activations. I will be happy to share all data that evolves from this committee. My other membership is with the NFPA - National Fire Protection Association.

As many of you know, I can be reached at all times, please feel free to contact me with any of your questions or concerns. I want to thank all my customers who have made Alarms Plus their alarm company of choice. I truly value your business and your friendship.

Sincerely,
William B. Chernack,
President,
Code 3 Security Systems, Inc.  t/a Alarms Plus

Notes From The Alarms Plus Office

Alarms Plus Central Station Monitoring billing cycle can be generated quarterly, bi-annually or annually to meet your needs. The Alarms Plus computer billing program generates an invoice one month prior to your renewal date whether you are on a quarter, bi-annual or annual billing cycle. Alarms Plus greatly appreciates the promptness of your payments. Alarms Plus receives invoices from the central station monitoring company for your provided service and expects to receive their payments on time.

Alarms Plus is asking all its customers (residential and commercial) to verify their Central Station Monitoring notification call list.  Please update your account to insure accuracy and time efficiency to the Central Station. Alarms Plus reviews all our customers alarm activity on a daily basis, if we notice a wrong telephone number or disconnected telephone number on our call list we will notify you and make the necessary changes.

Alarms Plus will be contacting all its commercial accounts one month prior to the renewal of their annual fire inspections. You can schedule an appointment at that notification time. We recommend all fire alarm inspections be done yearly since the alarm devices require cleaning, adjusting and testing annually. Alarms Plus issues a copy of the Fire Inspection Report to the Fire Prevention Bureau in the corresponding town.

Protect Your Telephone Line:

Many customers have concerns regarding the effects on their alarm system once telephone lines have been severed. Please keep in mind, the telephone line is the main source of communication. This is an inquiry that seriously needs addressing, for your added security protection.

When the telephone lines are cut the Central Station will not receive the signal to notify the police or fire departments; however the premise sirens will sound. THE SOLUTION to this is a product called AES-IntelliNet radio communications network which acts as a wireless communication link between your alarm system and the Central Station Monitoring Company. This wireless 2-way radio uses many alternate paths to send the alarm signal to the Central Station. In contrast, the telephone line provides a single path via a wire and if cut will fail.

Alarms Plus has literature on this product and you can set up an appointment to discuss this further either in person or by telephone.

The cost for all equipment is $900.00, and includes a one-year 2-way radio Central Station Monitoring Service fee. After the first year this cost will be $14.00/month (plus tax) in addition to the standard Central Station Monitoring fee which you are currently paying. Your alarm system needs to be connected both ways (via radio and telephone line) for your maximum security.

Customer Inquiries

Sign1.JPG (15319 bytes)Some of the customers inquired about "Lawn Signs" for additional security protection awareness for their property. The lawn sign is a 10 inch octagon shaped sign, attached to a post, indicating "WARNING, Alarm System installed by Alarms Plus" (with telephone number and location of Alarms Plus). These lawn signs can be purchased at our cost of $2.50 through our office at (973) 927-1500.

Phone1.JPG (12802 bytes)For those customers who have the Ademco Alarm System, a wireless remote keypad is now available for this system. This wireless remote keypad enables you to arm and disarm your alarm system from the interior or exterior of your home, an example would be from your car. This keypad is hand held and offers the same green/red indicator light as you are accustomed to.

We Are Watching When You Cannot!!

Opening and Closing Activity Reports are an added security measure for your business. The Central Station Monitoring Companies provide these statements at a cost to alarm companies.  These activity reports include: day of the week, date, time of entry, time of exit, user code when entered and exited, and the person's name. Alarms Plus recommends this added security measure for businesses with an increased employee turn-over, and for extended working shifts (i.e. ...nights - weekends). Alarms Plus does provide this service to it's customers and the cost would be combined with your present Central Station Monitoring quarterly invoice. Please contact the office at (973) 927-1500 for the quarterly rate and the procedure to get connected.
